Galiano Island, BC on the Gulf Islands is an ideal spot for the marine and land adventurer. The Galiano Island area is filled with parks and beach access areas. There are many who visit Galiano Island to kayak, sail, scuba and wildlife watch. Because of the many parks like Montague Harbour there are walking and hiking trails meandering around the island parks with marine and mountain top ocean views.

Kayak: Galiano looks out onto the Georgia Strait surrounded by islands and islets which is perfect island conditions for kayaking. The highlights are the coastal bays and coves on the
western protected shoreline of Galiano Island that has the secretive beaches, clefts

Sailing: Some of the best sailing waters are in proximity of Galiano Island. The surrounding islands and coastlines are filled with wilderness marine wildlife
roaming around offering up lots of
eye-candy of coastal scenery. Enjoy the shear cliffs and
private coves sailing the western shores of the island. Take in the
scene at DeCourcy, the spectacular sandstone cliffs near Blackberry
Point on Valdes Island.

Wildlife Watching : Watch Bald Eagles soar through the skies chasing hawks and seagulls as Blue herons look on perched from their rock. The Otters, Seals and Orcas patrolling the
Straight of Georgia can sometimes be viewed from shore. A vast assortment of marine birds with over 130

Walking and Hiking: Great assortment of trails
and parks on Galiano Island. There are forested and beach walking trails offering natural views and clean island air. Enjoy the Pebble
Beach Trail, the climbs of Mount Galiano, the scenery of Bodega Ridge
just to name a few. The sandstone cliffs will amaze, the gulf Islands
mountain views will astound and the heart will beat fast.
- Ocean Fishing: Island sport fishing is always a big draw because of the good fishing stock and the amazing island scenery. Visitors come from all around to fish Salmon. The local fishing guides seem to like the area of Active Pass
and Porlier Pass.
- Golf: One of the Gulf Islands that is lucky enough to have a top notch golf course is Galiano Island. The course is a par-64 course. Visitors
are always welcome to try and improve their handicap here. There is
a clubhouse with a a licensed restaurant.

Cycling: It is not uncommon to see many cyclist on any of the BC Ferry trips in the Gulf Islands. The peaceful country roads
and the beaches offer the biker many areas to rest and take in the
views. Some ending with viewpoints, spectacular sculptured
sandstone cliffs, coves and sheltered beaches.

Scuba Diving: Dive areas are bountiful close
by and afar including the Wallace Island Provincial Park, The Secretaries,
Pirates Cove, the coves of Prevost Island, Portland Island, Belle
Chain Islets between Mayne and Saturna, Tumbo and Cabbage Island.
Basically bring the scuba gear or rent. Tons to see underwater.

Ocean Swimming: Grab the swimming trunks and
bring your beach balls cause baby, there are some great beaches here!
Montague Harbour Provincial Park has shell and gravel beaches, a lagoon
and a sheltered cove. It is one of the local's finest swimming holes.
