- South Gulf Islands: The Pender Island and the Gulf Island area is well recognized by international kayakers as one of the prime areas for kayaking adventures and exploring. There are many little and big islands clustered together creating ideal bays, inlets and coves for kayakers wishing to explore a vibrant marine eco-system. - Gulf Islands National Park: The Gulf Islands National Park stretches out over a total area of 33 square kilometres including a 25 metre intertidal zone! The park wonders in and out of 16 islands and is Canada's 5th smallest park. The Gulf Islands National Park is next to some populated islands and includes a busy waterway used by ongoing marine transportation vessels thus making the Gulf Islands National Park one of the most urbanized of parks because it is next to civilization.

- Beaumont Provincial Marine Park. One of the all purpose parks on Pender Island is Beaumont Provincial Marine Park. Visitors come from all over to kayak, motor boat or walk into
this marine park. On foot from the Mt. Norman parking lot the Beaumont Provincial Marine Park is only a 25
minute hike through the forests to the beachfront. Beaumont Provincial Marine Park offers camping, picnicking, swimming, water and there are toilets on site.
- Canal Road Scenic Drive. Most islands have a scenic drive that sticks with you. In our case, on Pender Island the Canal Road drive was a beauty. The Canal Road scenic drive takes you to parks to explore, along coastlines, under hanging trees, up against rock cliffs and includes the chance to check out the historic
wooden bridge that connects South Pender with North Pender.
- Disc Park. Pender Island Disc park is a new an emerging sport on the west coast. Some refer to it as Frisbee Golf. If you want a change in pace from chucking a frisbee on a beach then try the 27 hole, 4 hectare public Frisbee
golf course.
- Enchanted Forest Trail. The trail is like the fairy tales coming to life because of the strong scent of pine needles. The Enchanted Forest Trail is located off of Canal Road on South Pender Island.
The Enchanted Forest Trail is an easy grade walk into the forests.
- Heart Trail. The trail is an access point to Prior Centennial Provincial
Park. Heart Trail is a maintained waking trail leading to the wonders of a Provincial Park. At the end of Heart Trail is some camping facilities.
- Magic Lake. The Pender Island lake is easily accessible with a few areas to pull over and enjoy the activity found on Magic Lake. many come to sit back at Magic Lake to observe the many birds that visit the area. Magic Lake has a well maintained walking trail used for accessing some of the picnic sites and to some
of the best bird watching view points.
- Medicine Beach Wetlands. Pender Island is a great destination for wildlife viewing. The newly acquired Medicine Beach Wetlands is fast becoming
a wildlife sanctuary. More and more birds flock to the Medicine Beach Wetlands, recognizing the area as a prime bird watching location.
- Mortimer Spit. A marine viewing point on Pender Island BC is the Mortimer Spit area located off of Canal Road between North and South
Pender. Mortimer Spit is a popular destination for dog walking, beach picnics
or to launch your kayak or small boat.
- Mount Elizabeth Regional Park. Hike through the forests of Mount Elizabeth Regional Park up to mountain views and wide open spaces. Mount Elizabeth Regional Park has some easy walking grade trails and the uphill grind type trails.
- Mt. George. The trail system at Mt. George is for all levels of hiking. Mt. George has an assortment of easy to hard walking trails. To reach the best views some uphill hiking is necessary. Mt. George trails offer up island views of the surrounding Pender Island area.
- Mt. Menzies. Another mountain in the Pender Island system with hiking trails leading up to scenic views. Mt. Menzies is no exception. The walking trails are easy grade to steep uphill hiking at Mt. Menzies.
- Mount Norman Regional Park. Can you say mountain views again. Pender Island is so lucky in that it has so many mountain parks to experience like the Mount Norman Regional Park. Some of pender Island's best hiking is on Mount Norman. The Regional Park has a well maintained natural trail system with captivating views of the
Gulf Islands and San Juan Islands.
- Pacific Marine Heritage Legacy. A whale of a beauty park is the magnificent Pacific Marine Heritage Legacy. It is by far Pender Island's largest park stretching for 230 hectares including
mountain views, forest trails, Roe Lake swimming and prime beaches for exploring and beach combing. A trip to the Pacific Marine Heritage Legacy is a treat.
- Prior Centennial Provincial Park. A Pender Island park with easy grade well maintained trails ideal for day walks. It easy at Prior Centennial Provincial Park to get lost in the beautiful, peaceful forest
park. Prior Centennial Provincial Park is where you will find the only public campsite on
the Pender Island with camping facilities.
- Roesland Trail. A beautiful park and lake on North Pender with easy walking trails to the lake and some ocean
access points. Roesland Trail has amenities onsite like a toilet, and picnic tables.
- Shingle Bay Beach Access. Pender Island has many ocean view points. The Shingle Bay Beach access serves up one of the best marine views. Shingle Bay Beach Access is fortunate
to have two beach access points with one being a trail head for the
Roesland Trail over to Roe Lake trail system.
- Thieves Bay Beach Access. Another area on Pender Island with a beach access point with great views. The Thieves Bay Beach access ends up in a little cove
which is also used as a boat launch.
